Because no single leadership model suits all work situations, this program offers a variety of strong leadership models, both military and civilian. They did more than adapt in the face of sweeping change; they forged new opportunities and truly made a difference in the lives of others.

Using case studies of Civil War leaders (Frederick Douglass, Clara Barton, Matthew Fontaine Maury, Walt Whitman, Dr. Mary Walker, and others), this flexible program can be tailored to your needs. If your training needs focus on creativity, then we select those leaders to suit; if you seek a cultural diversity theme, we select leaders to suit. Choose from over a dozen case studies that offer lessons for your training needs.

Similarly, the location of the program will be matched to the leaders selected. For example, homes of Clara Barton, Frederick Douglass, Matthew F. Maury, and Robert E. Lee are all in the Washington, DC area and can be combined with a tour of Civil War Washington sites.

Program length is flexible. A pure classroom discussion using the case studies can be conducted at your facilities in a single day. Combine the classroom work with site visits, and you have a two-day workshop that offers further insights into the characters of the leaders you have selected.
